CCW annual convention set for April 27
by Lila Schmidt
The 44th Annual Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Convention will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2002, at MACCRAY High School in Clara City. You dont want to miss this one. The theme is: I have made you a light to the nations. (Acts 13:47). The conventions logo is Jesus knocking at the door with a lantern.
Keynote speaker, Sally Nelson will share how she was "Called to be Light." Sally was a contributor to the book, There We Stood, Here We Stand, by Timothy Drake. In response to Bishop Nienstedts call for an end to the culture of death by being pro-active for pro-life, our second speaker is Dr. James J. Joyce, MD, a member of the Catholic Medical Association, who has a particular interest in medical ethics.
This event promises spiritual opportunities for participants and it will be extra special because its our first with the Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt, Bishop of New Ulm. The highlights of the day will be the Celebration of the Eucharist.
If you havent attended a diocesan convention, youre missing something. The church is full of women from across the New Ulm diocese and the Altar is graced by many of our priests. Its awesome! We will end the day with the Divine Mercy Chaplet, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and Benediction.
