News Release #361Released to media on December 5, 2003Advent Prayer Service to be heldBaby Jesus figures to be blessed by bishop of Diocese of New Ulm New Ulm, MN - During the Advent Season two parishes within the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm will host the second annual Advent Prayer Service presided by the bishop of the diocese, The Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt.
On December 7 at 2:30 p.m. , the Prayer Service will be held at St. Anastasia Parish, Hutchinson. The Prayer Service will be offered again that evening at 5:30 p.m. at St. Mary Parish in Willmar . Families, especially children, are encouraged to bring along the baby Jesus figure from their home nativity set to be individually blessed by Bishop Nienstedt.
A “swaddling clothes” collection (blankets, sleepers, layette items, etc.) will be taken for babies in need.
