National Catholic Youth Conference to draw record numbers
New Ulm, MN On November 18, 1999, a group of 571 youth and their adult leaders from the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm will gather in St. Louis, MO, for the 1999 National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). Already the largest gathering of Catholic young people in the country, this years NCYC is expected to draw record numbers of youth, reaching possibly 21,000 people. This is also the largest attendance ever from the New Ulm diocese. Over 300 young people will gather with bishops from across the country at the Youth Congress on Scripture. The bishops and young people will reflect on how Scripture relates to and gives insight into a variety of current experiences in the lives of young people. NCYC participants will have the opportunity to relax, play games, visit exhibits, and engage in entertaining, educational, and artistic activities throughout the conference.
