New Ulm Diocesan Youth Rally October 21 - Popular songwriter and upcomnig singing sensation to keynote event!

New Ulm , MN – The annual Catholic Diocese of New Ulm Sr. High Youth Rally (for grades 7-12) will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2007 , from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at Cathedral High School in New Ulm. The day will include Sunday Mass, snack, supper, keynote, break-out sessions and/or dance. The day’s keynote will feature popular songwriter Bob Halligan, Jr. and singer, Amanda Vernon.

Halligan has had his songs recorded by such artists as Michael Bolton, KISS, Kathy Mattea and Rebecca St. James. He is now the lead singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitarist of his own band, “Ceili Rain”.

Vernon is a newcomer. At 20 years old, she has been traveling around the country sharing her music and testimony with youth.

“Halligan and Vernon will bring a lot of humor and energy to the youth rally,” commented Sr. Margaret McHugh , DSMP, Director of the New Ulm Diocesan Office of Youth Ministry. “We are really excited to have them.”
