Jeremy G. Kucera ordained
to the priesthood for the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm
New
Ulm, MN - Reverend Jeremy G. Kucera
was ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Cathedral
of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm, by the Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt,
bishop of the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm.
Father Kucera, celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving
on Sunday, June 13, in his home parish of the Church of the Holy Family,
Silver Lake. Father Kucera has been appointed by Bishop Nienstedt to
serve as associate pastor of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Marshall.
Father Kucera is a 1995 graduate of Holy Trinity
High School, Winsted, and 1999 graduate of the University of St. Thomas
with a major in Catholic Studies. During his undergraduate studies,
he spent a semester in Rome studying at the Pontifical University of
St. Thomas Aquinas. On June 8, 2003, he was ordained to the Diaconate
at the Church of the Family, Silver Lake, by Bishop John C. Nienstedt.
During his internship, he served five months in Guatemala before interning
at the Church of St. Catherine, Redwood Falls followed by the Church
of St. Philip, Litchfield. He graduated from the Saint Paul Seminary
School of Divinity in 2004. Father Kucera is the son of Gerald and Luanne
Kucera of Silver Lake.
