Deacon
Keith R. Salisbury to be ordained to the priesthood for the Catholic
Diocese of New Ulm
New Ulm, MN – Rev. Mr. Keith R. Salisbury will be
ordained to the Holy Order of Priesthood for the Catholic Diocese of
New Ulm on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity,
New Ulm by the Most Reverend John C. Nienstedt, bishop of New Ulm.
Deacon Salisbury, 54, is originally from the Church of St. Michael in Gaylord. He is the son of the late
Jay and Marie Salisbury. He attended Gaylord High School, graduating in 1970. Prior to answering
his vocation call to the priesthood, Keith worked in private industry
for twenty-five years. He attended St. John Vianney College Seminary
and the University of St. Thomas, graduating in July of 2001. He was
assigned to a parish internship year at the Church of St. Mary in Sleepy Eye. Since the fall of 2002, he has attended The
Blessed John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA (near Boston).
He was ordained to the order of the diaconate on June
29, 2005,
at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, New Ulm. As a new deacon, Salisbury served during the summer of 2005 at
the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Marshall before returning to The Blessed John
XXIII National Seminary to complete his studies in preparation for ordination
to the priesthood.
All the faithful of the diocese are invited to come celebrate.
A reception will follow the Mass.
Following his ordination to the priesthood, he will offer a
Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, June 4, at the Church of St. Michael in Gaylord.
