News Release #435Released to media on April 16, 2010Leonardo Defilippis to perform VIANNEY April 29 at Church of St. Mary in New Ulm New Ulm - VIANNEY, (Vee-AH-nee), a live one-man production performed by actor and director Leonardo Defilippis, is now on a nationwide tour for the Year for Priests and will be presented at the Church of St. Mary, 417 South Minnesota in New Ulm, on Thursday, April 29, at 7:00 p.m. Leonardo Defilippis is well-known as the director and star of the feature film Thérése, which ran in mainstream movie theaters for more than a year. His live performance of VIANNEY includes a spectacular set, numerous costumes, and a moving musical score. The public is welcome to come see this talented performer bring to life the remarkable story of Saint John Vianney, who battled the devil and saved a whole village, and thousands of souls beyond. Sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm, this program is suitable for ages nine years and up, and admission will be a free-will offering. A social sponsored by the St. Mary’s Council of Catholic Women will follow the evening performance.
