Statement
by Diocesan Administrator, Rev. Msgr. Douglas L. Grams
on Father John M.
LeVoir’s appointment as
the fourth
bishop of the Diocese of New Ulm
I
am delighted that Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, has named Bishop-designate
John
M. LeVoir as the fourth bishop of the Diocese
of New Ulm. On behalf of my brother
priests, pastoral leaders, and the Christian faithful in the Diocese
of New Ulm, I extend to Bishop-designate
LeVoir a warm welcome to this local church. We have been praying for a new bishop
for more than a year. We are grateful that our prayers have been answered.
Bishop-designate
LeVoir has been an effective pastor the past twenty-seven years where he has
served faithfully in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
The pastoral leaders and the People of God in the Diocese
of New Ulm enthusiastically wait to greet
our fourth bishop and look forward to his leadership as our new Shepherd.
